to WenjingTangCS200W. This blog will focus on computer science and statistics, which are the two most interesting study areas to me.
My major is statistics, it is highly relative with math, which is obviously theoretical to most people. And computer or software makes it practical. This is the reason that all the statistics need to learn coding. The popular statistics software, include SAS (Statistical Analysis System), SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science), S-PLUS, EVIEWS, shows their powers on economics, bio-pharmaceutical and other fields. These cannot be achieved without the combination of computer science and statistics.
The more charming parts of computer science is that it could not only virtualize things but also materialize the incredible design. The 3D modeling and printing open a new door for all designers. Today, 3D models are used in a wide variety of fields. The medical industry uses detailed models of organs. The movie industry uses them as characters and objects for animated and real-life motion pictures. The video game industry uses them as assets for computer and video games. The science sector uses them as highly detailed models of chemical compounds. The architecture industry uses them to demonstrate proposed buildings and landscapes through Software Architectural Models. The engineering community uses them as designs of new devices, vehicles and structures as well as a host of other uses. ReplyDeleteAccording to Debra on Piazza, our minimum word count of comments is officially 75. So, I'll be more detailed with my comment. For positives, you introduction is very informative and tells a lot about your interests and passion. You also clearly mention what this blog is going to be about. However, for a negative, it was not very easy for me to read your entry because the font is a bit small and that the color of the background and the font are both dark producing little contrast. As a general response, again, I think 3D modeling is interesting and has a lot of applications in our lives.
